YOGA FOR FERTILITY Class Series

Sundays from 2-3:30pm until 12/22 (*class will not meet on Sunday, 12/1)

$45 per class

Liz Belile has been supporting women and couples through the process of TTC or preparing to conceive consciously for nearly a decade, having helped over 100 students/clients realize their dream of becoming parents.  This series is specially designed to help support women who are trying to conceive or may be undergoing fertility treatments, which is often an extra stressful or emotional time in one's life. The holiday season can add another layer of stress for those who are in the process of trying to conceive.

Over the course of 12 classes, we will explore how to apply yoga and yogic concepts, in addition to other complementary modalities, to enhance the fertility cycle and bring greater awareness and health to the whole creative self.  Students will leave with a better sense of how to take charge of their own fertility, where to find reputable and compassionate support, as well as a renewed sense of hope, and perhaps even clarity.

No prior experience with yoga is necessary.  Each class will incorporate time to check in with Liz, to share experiences with the group, and to share in a nourishing, gentle yoga practice.

Liz always welcomes clients of all races, colors, ethnic and national origins, ages, religions, sexes, genders, sexual orientations, and abilities.  It would be her honor to walk you through the confusing, overwhelming world of fertility treatment to enhance you and your partner's fertility with unconditional support and care.

Liz Belile is a registered yoga teacher, licensed massage therapist, and fertility doula.  She has been practicing yoga since 1991, teaching since 1999. Liz created the “Enhancing Yoga for Fertility series” in 2009 and has supported over 100 couples into parenthood since. She is certified in prenatal and postnatal yoga as well as Bodywork for the Childbearing Year.  After trying various approaches to her own fertility, Liz gave birth to a healthy baby boy in 2007 at the ripe old age of 43. She is passionate about offering support and sharing the wealth of information and vetted, credible, local resources for women (and their partners) who are having a tough time conceiving, undergoing fertility treatments, or are just looking for a holistic approach to preconception. Liz was awarded "Best Fertility Expert" for the Austin Birth Awards, 2011.

Beginner's Introduction to Yoga Poses & Path with Laura Teal

Whether you are a raw beginner to yoga or a yogi seeking a deeper commitment to your practice, Laura's Welcome to Your Yoga Practice series is open to you! We'll start at the beginning and root ourselves in the teachings of Yoga together. Each week, we will approach new postures (asanas) as well as a new aspect of the practice of yoga to discuss together and meditate on. These together will yield a greater understanding of the practice of Yoga, and the way it relates to us as individuals and as a community of learners.

Together we will learn:
-Fundamental yoga postures (asanas)
-Effective use of yoga props
-Commonly used terminology in English & Sanskrit
-Yoga classroom etiquette
-Beginning practices for meditation & breathwork (pranayama)
-About the historical and philosophical context of the yogic path and how we can relate to these teachings as Western practitioners of Yoga

Enrollment is limited to keep the learning environment intimate, to allow for individual attention, and to keep the conversation open.

Laura is certified at the 500-hour level thru the San Marcos School of Yoga (2017) and Yoga Yoga (2013). Her "alignment-based" style and this coursework stem from teachings learned in study with her teacher, Christina Sell. Students can expect a light-hearted, integrated, & informed yoga practice with Laura. She is looking forward to sharing this offering for the fourth year at Mantra; grab a friend and reserve your space!

Demystifying Kundalini Yoga

Saturday, January 25th from 4:30-6:30pm

$35 Investment

Have you ever wondered how Kundalini Yoga differs from other styles of yoga practice?  Join Amrit Dev to deepen your understanding of what yoga is through his workshop, DEMYSTIFYING Kundalini Yoga.  He will lead you through the traditional invocation in a Kundalini practice, the Adi Mantra.  Then, he will share the meaning and intent of a series of kriyas you will practice together. A kriya is a set of movements, often combined with intentional breathing or with the chanting of a mantra.  In this workshop, you can also expect to learn the benefits of practicing Kundalini yoga on the mind, nervous system, and endocrine system.

Can't make this workshop?  Check out Amrit Dev's Intro to Kundalini Yoga class each Tuesday at noon!

Yoga for Grief Workshop

Sunday, February 23rd from 1:30-3:30pm

$35 Investment

We are happy to welcome Angelene Price back to Studio Mantra to share her work on Yoga for Grief.

Grief is not our shadow, it is our guide. Let’s join together for an exploration into the practice of grief.  We'll spend an afternoon set apart to consider where we hold grief in our bodies, hearts and lives.  We'll learn how we can use meditation, gentle yoga and ritual to shift from experiencing grief as a space of darkness to understanding grief as one of our deepest teachers. Though we often associate grief with death, we will also consider spaces of grief around other types of endings – relationships, jobs, paths not taken in this life, etc.

Dress comfortably for slow movement and bring a journal and yoga mat. It will be an afternoon of depth, wisdom and shared healing.
